curt raitz Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Thanx for all of the responses I received from the forum regarding building this kit...the ride height being the main concern. I used Ismael Gonzalez's Altitude Adjustment article in the May/June issue of Model Car Magazine to set the ride height. Also played with around with shooting Tamiyas Florescent Red o'er Tamiya Italian Red, thanx Brendan for the idea... O'erall the pieces all fit and this was a fun model to build thanx for lookin'
Clay Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Simply beautiful. Love the color and the stance. Nice Job!
ismaelg Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 As with all other builds from you, it looks great. Not only you do nice work, but I also like your subject choices as well. Glad to see the article was helpful! That is on my list of future builds. Thanks,
janositamas Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Very nice job, you made a very convincing build of this not-so-perfect Revell kit May I ask you what was the idea of using silver/chrome on the side window panels? I've never seen that before...
Raul_Perez Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Man-oh-man...you've been busy!! What's the matter, the girls haven't been busy with after-school activities lately? I don't recall you ever building that many cars this fast!! I think I finish about one model for each ten that you build!! You can also bring this one next week when we get together for lunch!! Later,
crispy Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 What's with all the red Ferrari's lately?? Really nice and clean. I find it hard to believe it is the Revell kit. Great Job! Chris
Nick F40 Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 What's with all the red Ferrari's lately?? Really nice and clean. I find it hard to believe it is the Revell kit. Great Job! Chris It's weird right?
curt raitz Posted February 7, 2009 Author Posted February 7, 2009 Very nice job, you made a very convincing build of this not-so-perfect Revell kit May I ask you what was the idea of using silver/chrome on the side window panels? I've never seen that before... On researching this car, I found photos with chrome trim around the side windows and photos with the trim in black, gave the bare metal foil a workout and liked it
Brendan Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 How did I miss this one? Awesome job on the Ferrari. And yes, you are right about the chrome on the windows. I've seen several pictures of these cars with the chrome instead of the black on it.
hossalimi Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Curt, You have been busy!! Raul isn't kidding!! Great work as usual and I am sure this one will make a great companion to the other Ferraris you'll have at the show. Hossain
Merkur XR4Ti Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 (edited) Hey Curt, can you give a bit more detail on how you painted it? I love the look, looks just like Rosso Corsa. How many coats of Flour. Red did you put on top of the Italian red? I've just painted an old Tamiya Testarossa kit in Italian red, and it doesn't pop like yours. I built this kit and painted it Metallic Grey with a red interior. But I wish I had painted it like yours; it's perfect! Edited February 8, 2009 by Merkur XR4Ti

Thanx, I shot a mist coat of TS-36, let set for @ 15 minutes than followed with a heavier coat...just enough to get an even gloss then let it set for a few a week or two then rubbed the finish out with Novus #2 and a a good cleaning with Novus #1

hossalimi Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Thanx ol'friend...and just what are you bringing this year, any surprises? Hi Curt, The list is long. Fron two 1/6th scale MC models to a 1956 Nomad Station Wagon with GP racers peppered in between!! I've got to get my act together and start posting pictures here instead of simple replies!! Anyway, I am coming down with about 15 new models, some of which you and Raul have seen. But the majority are brand new. See you soon. Hossain
