carsntrucks4you Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Hall Scout build truck engines until the 1960's. Most of them were gasoline engines because the early diesel engine weren't powerful enough for trucks.. All major truck manufactures like Peterbilt, Kenworth, Mack or Autocar offered Hall Scott engines either as gasoline or butan engines. I will install this engine in a Peterbilt 280 COE from Strato model. I used Fusion 360 to design the 3D model and a Anycubic Mono X as a printer. 5
leafsprings Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Very impressive work on this engine. Glad you were able to find detailed original photos for reference. Any info on what color the Hall Scott was painted?

The later diesel engines were painted dark green, so I''m think about to paint mine dark green
Jim B Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Very interesting. Since this engine is going in a 1960s Peterbilt, you could always paint it white.
gotnitro? Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Gorgeous engine work Our manufacturing technicians use Fusion 360, very good software
Gary Chastain Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Sooooo cool, you have to do a WIP for your truck build with that engine.
Joe Nunes Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Very nice work on this replica engine. Well done! ? Joe
leafsprings Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Excellent work Michael! Great powerplant choice for a 50's big rig! They look very similar to a big diesel engine. Here is another big gas engine from the era. 1
