JerseeJerry55 Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 My 1969 AMT Riviera will be started in a couple of months. However since Winter here in NJ is a pain in the caboose I will be doing a lot of test fitting, sanding, and picking out paint choices. Since the kit is a stock, or custom I am at an impasse on which to choose so I have taken pics of the body with each hood in place.
AMT68 Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 I've done a few of these (all factory stock) and its one of my favorite AMT promo style kits. While pretty basic on many levels it certainly builds up nicely. And I'm also in NJ working on builds painted last summer/fall while definitely looking forward to warmer spring weather when I can paint outdoors again. 1

I am looking forward to the warmer weather. Caught up on color choice at the time. If you wouldn’t mind posting some pics I’d really like to see your work. Thanks
AMT68 Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 (edited) I finished up this Toreador Red build last year early in the spring. I'd like to improve on the wheel opening moldings on my next build using thin strips of blue tape as guides. It's a technique I learned here and started using it after this build. Toreador red, is that a GM color and was it painted with rattle can?

It's a Ford color Carl and yes with a rattle can. I may invest in an airbrush someday but for now have gotten by with spray cans for all of my builds the last four years or so. 1
Kenmojr Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Looking forward to more progress and updates on this 69 Buick...
