James Maynard Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Got this little daycab Dodge in a trade. It was just the cab but it was in pretty good shape. I got a lot of great random parts with it. There's a place right on the roof that just won't sand smooth or fill with putty and look right so it's staying I guess. I used a FLD interior tub. Had to butcher it good to make it fit but it's working now. The frame (I think) is from a 359 California Hauler. I've shortened it it was already shortened once. And it's going to get shortened again. The engine is from a junked Titan 90. The rims are from my stash. Just random wheels. I've got to get glass for it.
James Maynard Posted January 24, 2023 Author Posted January 24, 2023 This is a better pic of the place in the cab. 1
Jim B Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 (edited) That's a Dodge L1000 cab. Looks like an AITM casting. Edited January 24, 2023 by Jim B 1

Jim B Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 If you're doing a single drive axle tractor with a V8 engine, I'm pretty sure you have a LV1000.

TruckerAL Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Glad you're able to use all those parts I sent over! Great progress on this one ?
Warren D Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Interesting build. Sounds like the resin may not have cured, next time try filling with superglue. I've had decent luck with that but it's really tough to sand, you have to be careful as the resin is softer. Glass should be easy, all the windows look flat so clear sheet should work fine.
Mopar - D Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 James looking forward to seeing you build your Dodge. What I’ve done with my windshield on this cab is to thin the thickness around the windshield on the inside with a Dremel to get a smooth edge for the glass to set on.
James Maynard Posted January 25, 2023 Author Posted January 25, 2023 Some more progress. Getting close to finishing it. I used plastic from mail envelopes for the glass. 1
