Bullybeef Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Well I’m happy to say that this one is finally complete enough to show. If you followed the build thread you will see the progress of converting the amt 29 roadster to a 31 roadster. There was an enormous amount of scratch building (the entire interior) I really stretched my building abilities with this one. it will acquire a special place in my cabinets, amongst the other 1:1 replicas I’ve made. Thanks for the support and encouragement along the way. As usual all comments are welcome. 5
espo Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Enjoyed watching this come together. Interesting how much effort goes into a finish like this compared to a shiny build sometime. Hard to tell the model from the picture with the same settings. 1

Thank you David, it was a fun and challenging build.
Dennis Lacy Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 I think you absolutely nailed the essence of the full scale car. Killer work on the weathering! You should send pictures to the cars caretaker, Eli English. I bet he’d love it!
Calb56 Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 (edited) This is definitely one of my favorite builds recently. I really dig how far the engine is set back. A lot of traditional rods getting done just now. It's great to see. Edited January 26, 2023 by Calb56

It was extremely helpful that this car has had a lot of internet coverage so matching up details was a lot more rewarding. I imagine that the current caretaker would like to see this but I’m not forward enough to contact a stranger and show this off. But if you know the gentleman please feel free to send them. 2 hours ago, Slotto said: Outstanding!
