Reminds me when I was building a '70 Challenger T/A and 3 years (!) into the WIP I realized there are no wipers in the kit.☺️ Making and adding those and then fighting the hood not closing all the way was the most memorable part of the build. Yep, been there, Lol! I've spent a fair amount of time on some builds doing little details, only to find the part interferes with what's next to it! I learned my lesson here though, which is why everything on the cowl is recessed! Wipers are paper thin too. 1

Also filled and shaped the gearbox tunnel for console delete. I might go with a darker blue on the carpet, maybe even black. Gareth, just so you know, if you're going for a stock style build, the carpet would be blue, close to the upholstery colour. Most pics show it slightly lighter but the shades were never a %100 match. Black carpet would only be used with a black interior. Sometimes a white / off-white interior with black dash but IIRC, that wasn't available on the '70. Your arm rests and handles look great.

I'm gonna try and find a close colour to the seats in a flat shade. I could try flocking, I've never used it before.
doorsovdoon Posted March 6, 2023 Author Posted March 6, 2023 Brake and clutch pedals. I also added a shifter to the column.
doorsovdoon Posted March 6, 2023 Author Posted March 6, 2023 I decided to paint the floor the same colour as the seats but with a light dusting of pale blue. I could flock it but will have to buy some, have never done it before, and there's a million different colours out there! I'm getting too involved in this build now so just want to get it done before I loose interest and ends up another half-finished project.
doorsovdoon Posted March 6, 2023 Author Posted March 6, 2023 Firewall painted and detailed. I painted the bottom of the windshield black to meet up with the cowl and added a strip of foil to imitate the cowl trim.
David G. Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 Great work on the Impala! So many good things going on here it's tough to pick just one to comment on. David G. 1
doorsovdoon Posted March 6, 2023 Author Posted March 6, 2023 The '70 wheels fit straight to the '67 back plates, and the back plates fit the '70 tyres?, I just had to cut the pegs off the back of the '70 wheels where the old metal axles went and shave the rim edge down a couple of mm to pull the hubcap in a bit closer to the tyre. The concave shape of the '70 wheels gives plenty of room to clear the '67 hubs. This Supernatural's chassis is ideal for the '70! 1
doorsovdoon Posted March 7, 2023 Author Posted March 7, 2023 Another one done. I enjoyed kit bashing this, finding what works and what didn't. Apart from cutting the floor out of the old promo interior tub, the whole chassis/floor and running gear of the '67 was pretty much a direct fit. Maybe the '70 Monte Carlo would have been a better option, having a few more 'up to date' details under the hood, but I couldn't find one, so the '67 was good enough. I'll post some outdoor pics in Underglass when it stops raining... that could be weeks from now where I live! Lol 2
