Some younger folks will know him, as his career got a bit of a kick when he showed up in the Austin Powers movies. 

I was aware of him prior, but this is where I first noticed his music.

So many of the well-known artist sang his music and Hal David was often his Lyricist. Dionne Warwick had many top 40 songs of his. Performers like Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones all sang his hits. "Walk on by" was one of my favorites and was done by Dionne Warwick as well as Isaac Hays. There are many other name artists as well. "Rain drops keep falling on my head"   when I heard.
