Must be why 'you' chose the pearly white :D . Lookin' forward to seein' it SHINE!

Actually, John the original idea behind this was to have it school bus yellow. With that in mind, the primer needed to be light colored. I didn't want to use gray as I figured it would alter the final color. So I used white primer, after seeing how it looked in white I knew that the idea of school bus yellow was out the door. All I know is it sure looks good in white.

The engine is all plumbed and ready to be installed in the engine bay. Really all that is left to do is the interior panels as they need to be tuck 'n roll to match the bed cover. With 9 days to go it's doable.

Ok, I know when to take my lumps. Yes, it fits, it's been in and out of the engine bay several times during the build. What are friends for but to rub salt in open wounds.

Got closer to having this one completed but I'm running out of time. Like the '40 this is most likely the way it will go to the NNL. There have been several times this past week where it was trying to it's spaghetti impression. You know the one if you throw it and it sticks to the wall it's done.

I managed to get the exhaust pipes added as I wanted and the bed cover painted and attached to the body. The grille and front bumper got attached. The door panels have been cut for the doors, but alas I'm running out of hours to get it completed.

Should be ready for the PSAMA event i the second Sunday in May.

Thank you guys for your kind comments. This has been a fun build, with the exception of the paint. I can't remember ever having so much trouble getting a paint job to cooperate. I don't know if it's a byproduct of the weather as we've not gotten even close to drying out yet this year or what the problem is. There are still a couple of areas that are generating problems. I'm hoping that a final color sanding and a dose of Clear Urethane will resolve it.

I've been having the same painting issues here in Tacoma, I think it might be the fact we haven't dries out in months :( . Can't wait to see your truck at the Model Car Sunday, I will be bringing my '55 Cameo and if I can get paint to work for myself, maybe also my '63 Galaxie.

This has been the roughest build I've been involved in for quite some time. It has fought me the entire way since the first coat of primer was applied. The 2 tone bed cover died a quick death and was replaced by the bed cover from an AMT '53 F100.

But, today it cooperated as I shot 4 coats of Omni urethane clear. The interior still needs to be completed. Glass and exhaust need to be installed and a final rub out.

Hopefully, it along with a pair of '32 Sedans will be completed for the Inner Club Challenge on JUne 6th.

I scrapped the idea of scratch building new interior door panels but still didn't want to use the stock '50 units either. So, with a little rework the '58 Edsel Pacer pre-paint kits panels were used along with it's seat, steering wheel and column.

And here's the T-Bird engine from the Mysterion in it's new home.

Hopefully, there will be more photos later or better yet it will find it's way under the glass by the end of the day.

this is coming out really nice

i hope im not imposing but...since the door panels are from the edsel ;)

and i guess you wont be needing the stock ones <_<

think they would fit in my 53 ford PU ? :D

for whatever reason my kit has no inner door detail

(check out the link in my siggy to see the build)
