JollySipper Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Hello, guys, in the 'all the rest' forums! I'm needing info, or maybe y'all can help remembering, about a helicopter model. When I was a kid (about 7 years old ) my Dad built this model that had an electric motor for turning the rotors, and IIRC it had lights, too. I believe it was maybe a Huey, but it had rescue markings instead of military..... It was kinda large, maybe 1/24 or 1/32. There was a wire that ran inside the stabilizer that you pulled to activate the motor. Also, the rotor tips glowed in the dark, which was too cool to little me at the time...... Does any of this ring familiar to anyone?

I lusted after that kit back in the late 60s but at $20 it was out of reach! Should have saved up and bought a few I guess. https://www.ebay.com.my/itm/Vintage-1969-Monogram-Phantom-Huey-Chopper-Model-Kit-Scale-1-24-Great-Condition-/125686020275?pageci=a8d77563-b346-4b75-b4db-2a5982d47659
JollySipper Posted March 27, 2023 Author Posted March 27, 2023 That very much looks like it! Do you know if it was molded in white at some point? I may not be remembering correctly, but it seems it was white plastic.....

Expand Doesn't look like the motorized version was ever done in anything but clear. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/monogram-85-4675-bell-huey-gunship--184996 1
