Jim B Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Here is my build of the Revell 2015 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R. Here is the kit I used (which I think some are familiar with): The kit depicts the car as is raced in the 2016 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, of which it won the GTLM Class (not the car on the box). My build is completely box stock, and it went together quite well, for the most part. I will say that the only part of the kit that didn't fit well & gave me fits trying to get it to fit were the headlights. I got them in, but they were a real pain. The car is Tamiya Yellow TS-16 with various Tamiya black accents. The interior & chassis are Rust-oleum Semi-Gloss Black which, in retrospect, was probably a mistake. Oh, well. Too late now. Another thing I wish I had known prior to starting the kit was to go to Scalemates & download the instructions for the Revell of Germany issue of this kit. It has much more detailed painting instructions & color callouts than this issue. Well, I have them for next time. So, here's my build in all its glory (such as it is). Engine bay (not much to see) Couple of interior shots taken during construction: Thanks for looking. 8
Rattlecan Dan Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 It's got a whole lot of Realism look to it. Nice Job. 1

Lone Wolf Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 Very nice job Jim! Yesterday I was looking through my copies of Revell's C5.R, C6.R, and this same C7.R, and noticed this is the only one of the three that has an opening hood, strange. "The interior & chassis are Rust-oleum Semi-Gloss Black which, in retrospect, was probably a mistake." I'm planning to buy some more semi-gloss black paint in the very near future (ran out) and am curious why you said that about the Rust-oleum? 1

Ken, I said that about the Rust-Oleum because it goes on a little think compared to Tamiya, and it doesn't look as good, in my opinion.

Thanks Jim, that will help guide me in choosing a new batch of semi-gloss black paint.
ToyTund2009 Posted June 18, 2023 Posted June 18, 2023 Hi Jim, nice build. I recently built this kit and also had an issue with the headlights, after some minor tweeking I got them to fit but found the doors to be the real main with this kit. Although they came out okay it looks like your fit is better.
