I'd love to know what 3D printers you all use/have and what ya think... Selling my son's Ender 5 because it's driving me crazy with the filament!!! !! I'm getting ready to buy a Elegoo or Anycubic. Thanks...

I have an Elegoo Mars 2 Pro, and it's been awesome and trouble-free. However, I'll be upgrading because the build area just isn't large enough to support car bodies. For wheels & tires, engines, and other parts it has been excellent and easy to use.

Make sure you read this thread. :) Lots of good info.

I have 2 anycubic printers. I got a photon mono x back in october and i had a lot of trouble getting it to print consistently. After 5 months of tweaking and cursing the problem turned out to be the included memory stick. I was getting prints that looked like there was a bubble abour half an inch above the print plate. There was nothing wrong with the printer itself, just the memory stick and its now working consistently and succesfully 99% of the time. I also have an anycubic m3 max and its been awesome from the start. With it I can print up to 4 bodies or 2 bodies with basic chassis/interiors every 24 hours and not have to worry about the resin running out as it has an auto feeder. I was having second thoughts about printing with all the trouble i had with the mono, but i dont regret it now. I'm happy with them but it was a struggle for me in the beginning but my computer skills were pretty basic. I dont like the anycubic slicer, to me it seems over complicated so i use lychee slicer, its nice and simple for me to use. I did make another mistake when i bought the printer, my computer wasn't powerful enough to run the slicing software so i had to upgrade it. The slicer needs a min 8gb processor to work otherwise the computer will freeze up.

FDM printers are not really for us model car builders. Resin printers are the right choice. I have two Anycubic printers, a Photon S and a Mono X. Below you can see what can be done with them.

It is available on all major CAD sharing platforms free of charge. I am not sure if I can post a download link here. Search my name on grabcad or cults3d.

I started with a Phrozon Mini and after countless runs, it finally gave out.   The screen failed.   Now I have an Elegoo Pro and it works great.   There is one slight issue.   My work area is in my bedroom and I like to kick off long jobs to run at night.    The Phrozon was nearly silent while the Elegoo has a very loud cooling fan.   Just something to think about.    Given the choice now I would get another Phrozon just for that reason.    Both of these printers worked great.    I couldn't guess how many print jobs I ran on the Phrozon before having trouble so I am not unhappy about its longevity.    I have been using Elegoo water washable resin in ceramic grey and have had great results.     The water washable resin has no smell and cleans up with water instead of IPA.    Works perfect for me.

The screens do not last forever. They are fairly easy to replace and do not cost a fortune. You can revive the printer if you still have it.

A couple of guys in my club use them. They make parts that are as smooth as injection molded.

Thanks everybody for your valuable feedback.... I think I've decided on the  Elegoo Mars 3 Pro... I'm not looking to print bodies, at least not now... Again it was great hearing from everyone. It helped a lot...

You might want to re-think that. I only by Phrozen printers because there a cut above all other printers in the price range. The above printers are all 4k. Phrozen currently has the sonic 8k mini on Amazon for $399. 8k is the newest technology It produces finer detail thank 4k. Here's my wire wheel.

Here are the Elegoo and the Phrozen printers. The Phrozen has duel linear rails on the z axis to ensure accuracy of the print. It has a touch panel on the front that gives you control of the machine. It shows the progress and time of the print as to how long long it will take, how much is printed and time left to finish. Also, other features that give you controls that you need such as a visual of each layer the part as it is printed. Phrozen has a very good support team and a Face Book page for each of there printers. The build quality is top notch. It's so quiet that you can't hear it running. Phrozen 8k resin gives better prints, even on a 4k machine. Phrozen has a reputation it established in early 2018 of producing very good quality printers.

sorry to bump an older topic but id like to here some advise

i have an option to buy a slightly used anycubic photon M3, with some additional equipment (rotating table and a UV lamp-"Not a wash & cure station"),and it also comes with 2 resin bottels.

on the other side i can get the phrozen sonic mini 8kS for brand new for 50$ more, without extras.

What do you guys think?

I've got the m3 max and i like it fine. the resin auto feeder can be a fail point on them but anycubic have a great service dept. my feeder stopped working after 3 months (i suspect theres a blob of resin in the feed unit) but i had the new part in less than a month. other than the resin feeder its been plain sialing with no problems
