Nazz Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 I had a 1964 Olds with the 225 V6 more than 4 decades ago and am building a model of this car I am looking for info and was hoping someone could help as there is not a lot of info on the internet. From what I have found the Buick 225 is the same engine . Is this correct? Also did Olds and Buick use the same paint on their V6 engines in '64. If the engines are the same I can modify the Grand national engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jerry
NOBLNG Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 From a quick google search I believe that if it was a 225, it would be the same engine as the Buick 225. I don’t know about the paint. The MPC Mount N’ Goat kit does have the early 225 V6. Some earlier Jeepster kits could also likely have one?
Mark Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 All of the MPC Jeepster kits have the early Buick/Olds V6. A couple of versions of the MPC Jeep CJ kits had it too, but those particular ones haven't been available for many years.
Nazz Posted May 7, 2023 Author Posted May 7, 2023 Thank you Greg and Mark. I have found a pic of an Olds 225 that must have been posted reliantly because it did not come up before I will post this model on the forum soon. I think I will go with the engine from the Buick kit as I have one on hand I know the scale isn't right but I think I can make it work. Jerry
