Down at my mates place the other week and he gave me an old Heller 917 that someone had started to build and then pulled apart. Front suspension is missing, tub and rear framework buckled.  The beauty of it was it include an old resin Interserie body that is a reasonable copy of 917-026 so that's how it will be built.  Have straightened the tub and made a suitable front end to hang the wheels off!!.

I would love to paint it yellow with the red pattern work but it will probably end up in the red with yellow stripe version.

The body has taken a fair bit of work to mate with the Heller chassis but it's getting there.

Tks for looking.

Tks for the offer Rich, luckily all the rear frame is still on the tree.

Just have to replace the warped section when the time comes.

Dave...thought you might be interested in this project since it paralles yours.  This is a resin kit that was produced by a fellow modeller from another forum I am a member of.  His name was Allan James and to my knowledge this was the only kit he produced. I don't think he ever intended to do more than 50 kits so this makes this one quite rare. He was and outstanding modeller and I was fortunate to be in contact with him and able to aquire one of his kits. He has since passed on.  Here is the model so far in primed conditions ready for finish coat.  This car was run by Jo Schlesser in the 1969 Can Am series.  It was a converted 917 much like your project.  The car had some success as it was fast and very reliable, but unfortunatley underpowered.  It recorded several top five finishes.  This is a curbside project and I am about half way through it. It should be done soon so look for it in Under Glass soon. DSC08101.JPG.da4e14117d054c4889996737afe4ced5.JPG

Primer is all shined up and ready. Body was cast so smooth and perfect that no or very little clean up was required. I spent most of my time making the wheels steer.

Car was raced by Jo Siffert...my mistake.

Looking forward to seeing it Rich.  Mine has stalled at the moment, working on the 'not an Iso A3/C'.
