bisc63 Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 Interior tub is really impressive, your flocking is convincingly even in application. 1
Slotto Posted June 7, 2023 Author Posted June 7, 2023 Got some color on the body. I'm using DecoArt Extreme Sheen acrylic. The color is called Deep Sapphire metallic. also detailed up the front and back chrome bits. The headlights were fogged to badly to be reused. I'll pull some out of the boneyard 2
customline Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Steve, your stance is perfect for a "street machine" of the time. The trend was getting some 60 series wide ovals and deep dish mags which usually caused clearance issues. It was easy to get a Mopar up on all fours. Love that look. 1
David G. Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 Great looking color. Excellent detail painting on the grille bits. David G. 1
customline Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 Steve, how do you black out grilles like the one here? Your method? Materials? Just curious. ?

I'll be happy to share this with you. I use my airbrush mix of gloss acrylic black mixed at 2:1 with alcohol. I brush it on and let it dry. Then with an alcohol moistened q-tip, I rub away what I want chrome. In some stubborn areas, I'll hit it with a chrome pen.

Thanks, Steve, I'm just wondering if theres a better way for me.
Slotto Posted June 13, 2023 Author Posted June 13, 2023 I applied 4 coats of clear. Then wet sanded 600, 1500 then 3000. Next applied McGuire's Scratch X, then pledge. I think this will be my new routine. Whatcha think? 3
Slotto Posted June 13, 2023 Author Posted June 13, 2023 Got the rest of the body buffed out as best as I could and did some under hood detailing. Drilled holes for the heater hoses and throttle cable. Inserted a throttle cable, painted up the washer bottle, battery and cables. And added some brake line curlies to the master cylinder. Next I'll add foil to the trim. 3
David G. Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Fabulous looking paint and detail items. David G. 1
