I'm seriously thinking about selling off as many of my incomplete, started, and un built models that I can for space constraints (storage area fees are getting too expensive). Do model clubs let non-members bring in their kits to get see if any of the club members are interested in buying them?

well i think im pretty safe in saying, *our* model club would probably arrange transportation for you if you wanted to offer up your collection!!!

do you have any type of list ? maybe do that and email to anyone interested. or you could put them on emodelcars. no fees to list like ebay. just put a few there myself.

A post here that you are selling a bunch on stuff on emodel cars might work well for you. It's not ebay busy but with fair prices (for you and the buyer) you could probably move a good chuck of your stash.

Here's a taste of what I have left in storage, not including what's at home B)

I'm thinking I want to get rid of as much as possible except the 1/8 scale Revell, 1/12 Revell, and 1/16 AMT/MPC kits that I have. I don't as of yet have a list made up and my last one was lost to a hard drive crash some years ago on another computer. Next chance I get, I'll go make another. Thanks for the advice guys ;)

When you get that list made up, send it to me and I'll forward it to my Model Club here in SC (AFTER I get anything I want off of it of course... ;) ). I'm sure there will be someone there that will want something off of it.

Thanks again guys, I may also take pictures to go along with the list so you guys know what's in the boxes too. I'll probably start with what I have at home first. When I get that done, I'll post in the sales forum, but I need to warn you guys, I don't have a PayPal account.

Before I forget, what does it normally cost to snail mail model kits in singles and multiples?

There really isn't a sales forum, it is a swap, trade (is there a difference?) or free forum. You could get away with a list of what you have for "trade" and leave the fact you are trading cash for models to PM / email but really you are supposed to be using emodelcars for selling. Just giving you a heads up so you don't get bombarded with people pointing out you are not supposed to be blatantly selling on the forum. emodelcars is free to use and has a set price option (buy out) so you don't have to do it auction style. Several members here have sold quite a bit on there so I'm sure somebody could walk you through it if you need help. Also payment there is completely up to you paypal, money orders, cash, seashells, old jewelry etc.

It is really hard to say these days when it comes to postage, but you are probably looking at $5 for a single average kit, $15-20 for a package 4-6 kits.

The USPS has a handy calculator online that you can use.

With the size stash you are trying to thin, you really might want to reconsider getting a paypal account.

Alright guys, I've just started a new eModelCars account under the name BJoeHandley and will be starting a handful of auctions before I go to bed tonight! BTW, I'm going to put a $5 shipping charge on them and starting them out priced low
