M W Elky Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 These two Willy’s started out as late 80’s ertl amt reissues that I turned into to glue bombs . I originally built one as Stone Woods and Cooke and one as mazmanian . Twenty eight years later I took them apart and started over. After reading a really good article in the rodders journal about the s&s team . I used the small block Chevy engines , and back wheels from the double dragster kit the hood scoops came from the amt 37 Chevy kit . I chose tamyia bright red for the color and slixx provided the decals. Body work comprised of cutting the hood away from fenders . Then attaching than to lower fender extensions of the body. This is relatively easy thing to do and it makes it a much better looking model . In most ways the revell willys is a better kit, but I already had these amt kits that needed to be saved . they are really great kits with all of the right speed parts. Thanks for looking ? , Mike 4
Rattlecan Dan Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Couple of good lookers there for sure! Nice work.
R. Thorne Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Old gassers are hard to beat. Great conversion. What happened to Dave’s rear bumper?
