More done........ I was kinda wondering how I was gonna do the stripes. The rest of the shading is graphite, and I knew that if I did all the stripes in color there would be a "medium clash" I guess you could call it..... I decided to just do the orangish red stripe in color, so it would just be a stark contrast to the rest being pencil.

Thanks, Guys! It's funny how something evolves as you work on it..... Since there is three groups of stripes and three colors in the stripe, I'm gonna highlight each color in each different group of stripes..... That way all three colors are present..... You'll see, it will make sense later.  B)

You're off to a great start. Proportionally, everything is there, but it's crying for the darks to be darker. I know you're sort of at the limit of what you can do with graphite, so I wondered if you'd considered moving to a pastel pencil or a conte crayon for the deepest darks. Conte is not as messy as pastel or charcoal and is almost similar to pencil for ease of use. Since you're mostly going for realism, a blending stump will then help smooth the shades of each media together.

Blending stump.

They're each less than five bucks and with a little courage and contrast I think you could really bring this to life in the end.

Apologies, I almost never suggest to people how to do their art projects unless I think it's too cool to stay silent.  ?

My art teacher used to tell me the same thing! Thanks for your critique of my drawing here, I really value it..... I went ahead and shaded the grill a little darker, and did the background ( or lack of one ) in colored pencil......
