Andy Wyatt Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I know...2008 was the year for posting '49 Mercs. Don't let anyone tell you I'm on time for anything. Revell '49 Merc built pretty much right out of the box. Paint is HOK Pink Pearl over white primer. Duplicolor acrylic lacquer clear. I didn't really wasnt to use the "ribbed for her pleasure" bumpers but the other ones were not plated very well and I didn't have anything in my stash that I could use...but now that they are on I don't think they look too bad. Some engine detailing added...a quickie build to have something for the March CPMCC meeting. The left wiper has been fixed by the way. Thanks for looking!
Lyle Willits Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 That is a wild color. Beautiful paint. Actually, '09 is the 60th anniversary of the '49 Merc,,,,,,so you're right on time!
fordh8r Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Beautiful Merc! Well done! Looks like the Merc will be in style this year.
Randy Kern Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Wow Andy, that is bright! Another fine build with plenty of engine bay detailing.
george 53 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 The engine compartment looks great! Mike Garret an I were just talking about this at our last club meeting. Sometimes folks just go over the top with the detailing and end up makin it TOO busy. Yours has just enough, it looks GREAT!
Raul_Perez Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Andy, The engine detail looks GREAT!! I have extra bumpers for the Revell '49 Merc. Send me a PM with your mailing address if you're interested and I'll drop them in the mail for you. Later,
cruz Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Never imagined this thing in red, I love it man, nice job on the paint!!! Planning on going to the March meeting, hope to see it there!!!!
