I do enjoy these kits when completed because they truly stand out in your collection. The decals will at times induce the crossing of the eyes but that will straighten out on its own in a few days!

What better way to celebrate the July 4th with the red, white and blue! Once again no Petty match painting for the body is molded in blue. Apply the decals then clear coat. The blue will go for a Matte to Gloss "Creamy" Blue tint that brings the overall scheme into the wow zone.

Not as intense as the #19 Truex wrap but a few tips to expound on.

I didn't install the windows before decaling. This lead to hardly no trimming if the windows were installed.  You still have to make small window corner slit for the decal to lay down.  The side panel, trunk and roof/pillar decal panels have some degree of overlap.  After the decals are dry I take a black sharp pointed tip marker and blackout the recessed and window mounting outline to black out any body color that peeps through once the windows and window border decals are installed.  This give a cleaner window look.

Once decals are dry, test fit the windows into the recessed edges. Sand as needed for a easy drop in fit, then apply. Once they dry of their glue application then apply the window blackout borders.

Definitely make sure to start at on end of the body and work your way to the other. By not following my own advice (which we all do from time to time) I didn't get the hood and upper front fascia decal to line up perfectly,  just slight off. For me the hood decal is last for it takes the most attention in order to get it to lay down to conform to the hood.

You will have to touch up areas that didn't mate up against each other, small tears, pinholes, edges and so forth. Trust me, these are great decals but still applying them can get wonky. A little extra time and patience will cutback on your touch ups.

Well done of an iconic scheme!  Nice that the fluorescent red is decal, that seems to be the hardest part of doing a Petty livery.

Another beautiful job, Chuck. I know how hard this one must have been. The decals are not fun at all, but you did a great job again.
