Mothersworry Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Shot the chrome parts with the Revell chrome spray paint today, first time I used the stuff, came out pretty nice. FYI...Had some troubles with the nozzle, wuz leaking badly, discovered this after I had shot a little paint than shook the can a little and paint splattered around the booth. Apparently the nozzle wuz a poor fit to the stem thus the leak, wasted a bit of paint. A Tamiya TS lacquer paint nozzle fit nicely with no leaks, seemed to have a better, tighter spray pattern. 3
ModelcarJR Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Wow! The chrome and the paint on the body and fenders really looks good, Guy! I wish I could paint like that! ??

Looks really good. It has been my experience that chrome sprays are often not abrasion resistant and if you cover them with clear coat they lose their luster. How about the Revell chrome spray?
espo Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 The spray chrome finish has the same shinny appearance of the body paint job.

Green Stuff World and Revell chrome paints seem a bit more durable than the other chrome paints, that said, yes they are more fragile than kit chrome. I usually don't touch "chromed" parts fer at least a week or so after the paint is applied, then when I do handle the "chromed" parts I use archival gloves to minimize blemishing the finish of the chrome paint. So far, in my experience, any clear applied over these chome paints will at the very least diminish the reflectivity to some degree and in most cases turn the "chrome" in to shiny silver.
