Hi fellas. I’ve started the Tamiya 1/24 GMA T.50. First impressions are it’s a fantastic kit. I’ve been planning how to go about it for a while. The parts fit is excellent. Trying to figure out a colour. Mica Silver like the box art or Pure Orange? The silver might be easier to paint with a rattle can. I plan to paint it using a combination of rattle cans and enamel brush paint for the small detail work. Cheers.

Ooh, one of the newest releases. I can't wait to see how it goes together for you so I can decide if I have to have one too! :)

Wow - looking forward to watching this one Ben. I just received my kit a couple of days ago and my first impressions are very good! Tamiya just keep getting better. I think this is the first time I've seen injection moulded suspension springs.

This will look amazing in silver or orange. If you do go silver, the Tamiya Mica silver has a great finish. I bet a PE detail kit will be out soon, but I can't see where you could improve upon the kit.

The springs are ridiculously good! I think wiring the engine and photoetch seat belts would be as much as you’d need to add. As I don’t have an airbrush going at the moment, I’m swaying towards mica silver as it will lay on easier than the orange. The doors are a problem paint wise. For the model to look good, there’s a seam line that needs filling as the doors are constructed in 2 pieces. But this creates a painting nightmare. Nothing is perfect, but this kit is mighty close! Cheers.

The only other kit I've seen with injection molded springs like this is the Ebbro 1/20 Brabham BT-18 F2 car. It stands to reason that Ebbro and Tamiya are the two companies on the cutting edge.

Will follow this one.  Just picked mine up and gave it a good grok.  Really like this one even if the doors don't open.  Mine will be an orangish, brown , pearlescent. Still playing with the colors.
