Jim B Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 I saw that Iceman's Collections as a GMC conversion for this kit: If I were to build this as a GMC 1000, what color would the Stovebolt I6 be? I know the GMC V6 would have been orange, but (sadly) that's no longer available. Thanks. 1

1972coronet Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 IIRC, the GMC sixes were exclusive to GMCs ; the I-6 being a tall deck vs. the Chevy I-6. Not sure if that's noticeable in-scale ?
Classicgas Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 In 60 I think they were the same. Chevy came out with a new 6 in 63 iirc.

I remember the first time I saw a new GMC with the V6 and the "Tartan" looking valve covers. At first, I thought it was a joke or someone wanting to dress up their engine, sort of like chrome valve covers. The owner assured me that is the way GMC was doing it and that the other trucks he had looked at were done in the same way. I still think they look bazaar.
