Roadkill2525 Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 (edited) Im thinking of getting the Tamiya Audi Quattro (stock version), is it worth buying as a nice curbside kit or is it a bomb? Shown as a 1980-82 model. Edited March 10, 2009 by El Destructo Inc
Zoom Zoom Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 It's a good kit; it is full detail but the engine detail is partly molded to the chassis/body, not unlike what they're doing w/the new GTR. Don't pay too much for it, but if it's fairly priced it's a good model. I did a google search and found these examples: Tamiya Quattro Tamiya Quattro Tamiya Quattro Tamiya Quattro
Nick F40 Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Oh yes it is, don't have the stock version but want one. I have the 82 rally car. I want one in 1:1, BAD! Love this car. i think it's very worth picking up! i have the rally car kit and always wanted the stock version. Dave same here
58 Impala Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I have that kit. It is curbside, but still has the typical crisp Tamiya detail. I had a 84 Audi that I bought new when I was stationed in Germany, thats why I bought the kit.
Foxer Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I don't have this kit, but personally, I can't see how you can ever go wrong with a Tamiya kit.. except for lack of engines. More makers should strive for the quality of their molds.
Zoom Zoom Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Why do some of you guys insist on calling this model a curbside? It has an engine. This is on the box cover: "With a driver figure. Realistic engine room. Detachable hood. Complete interior. Scale undersurface detailing"
Foxer Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 sorry about the curbside.. my misunderstanding from what was said.
