There's another kit with a much better set of those in it, I believe it's the AMT 66 Mustang coupe kit but I can't swear to it.

I believe you’re right on that.

The 520 part number shows they're from the AMT '68 Shelby Mustang. 

The '66 Mustang coupe and '69 Galaxie also have some.

The '66 wheels look "off" for some reason and the '69 wheels lack lug nut detail and have quite a deep rim.

I used the kit rims for my 68 Shelby. Sand the backs to open up the holes. Use panel liner to bring out the detail and depth. Optionally, you could machine some aluminum tubing to make wheel hoops like I did.
