Freaking brilliant! It gets the glass where it should be and allows a re-radius of the top corners. (I think we're on to something ?). This will very likely become the standard fix for this. Awesome. Can't wait to try it. PAY ATTENTION, PEOPLE!

edit: Sorry Steve, didn't mean to wreck your dinner time ?.

Keep me posted.

I’ll be interested to see how it fleshes out.

This should allow you to play around a little with the window opening shape as well if there are any minor changes that you want to make.

Have fun, and good luck!

Thanks, Steve. I'm on this ?

Not to belabor the subject, but I think I have discovered the root of the problem with the windshield.  Question: which came first in the AMT '51 Chevy line-up? Was it the Bel Air?

the convertible?

Or the Sedan?

Notice the difference? Or is it my imagination?

I believe the Belair was the first one.

In all except a handful of cases, hardtops and convertibles had one windshield, sedans and wagons had another that was slightly taller.

I'm almost certain that, on the real cars, there are at least two different windshield heights depending on body style.

Somewhere along the line, I might check those part numbers...

I believe you are both correct, gentlemen. AMT took a shortcut.

Looking at the rear window of the Bel Air hardtop, I've been wanting to cut the glass down to drop the three pieces in from the outside.

Then there's the top part of the grille that's missing the horizontal flare, and the flat hubcaps that would be better suited to an '80s S-10 pickup... tango_face_grin.png.4a5218fbad210f6c03dfa160b7aadddf.png.1dce403d59b52f00f9a72fa558547252.png

I think sometimes it might be better to turn a blind eye to these things. For the sake of your sanity. I'm already nuts so, for me, it doesn't matter.
