junkyardjeff Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 These two were in pieces in a big lot of parts I picked up earlier this year,I got bored this past weekend I decided to put them together and and not do too much to them. 2
junkyardjeff Posted December 5, 2023 Author Posted December 5, 2023 The dust was intentionally left on the black one,it's a barn find and might eventually get cleaned.
Yeah Nah Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Any idea of their age Jeff? Only asking because the hoods seem to be a better fit than the newer issues I have! ?

Only asking because the hoods seem to be a better fit than the newer issues I have! ? That's a well known problem with those kits. I don't know about the recent round 2 releases and how the hoods fit. I have 2 round 2 40s but I haven't cracked them open yet. I have two resin 40 deluxe hoods Ed at Drag city castings made of an original issue hood that fits and the stainless trim is defined. I bought them because I know I'll probably build another 40 someday! 1
Rattlecan Dan Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 Good save Jeff. They look OK as is but will be available if you decide to tinker.
junkyardjeff Posted December 8, 2023 Author Posted December 8, 2023 I presume these are the earliest versions of that kit,99 percent of that parts lot were early 70s and older, not much I could do with the black one since it was heavily glued togather and would have broken to get it apart and most of it thrown away. Did not have the heart to repaint the green one since it most likely was painted in the 60s and the body was not too damaged like most that came with the parts. 1
