CaddyDaddy Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Hey there everyone! Am the new guy, but have to admit I’ve been “lurking” for a few months. Figured it was about time to join the fun. Live out in the country here in NJ, about 15 miles from the ocean. I’m 65 years old, just sold my business, and looking for something to do in my “old age”. Not new to the game, but stopped building about 40 years ago. Over the years I’ve put together many 1:1 street rods, hot rods, and competed with NASCAR Modifieds for more than a few years. You may ask “why don’t I just stick with the big cars”? Well, I can still kneel down and get under them.....just takes about a half hour to stand back up! Don’t get old! It’s no fun! Anyway, I’ll be concentrating on kit bashing North East NASCAR Modifieds from the ‘50’s, ‘60’s, and ‘70’s. Your local heroes, so to speak. I’ve done two since I’ve gotten back into this. The “rust” is still coming off! 1
Bainford Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 Welcome to the forum, Chas. It's a great place to get back into the groove. Looking forward to seeing some of your builds.
happy grumpy Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 Welcome Chas. I am 66 and I know what you mean.?
Rattlecan Dan Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Welcome Chas. I'm all about those 50-60's and 70's Modifieds. I've done a lot of the Northeast legends and posted them here on the forum. I hope you'll do the same. I like to use those MPC Pintos, Vegas, and coupes. Looking forward to some of your builds.
