Revell Ford Mustang Mach1 007 Diamonds are Forever

I was not sure when this kit may be available is the US market so I ordered two from the UK and they arrived in about two weeks.  I have started on the build By gluing the engine together and hope to not take as long as I did to finish the Boss 351.  As you can tell it shares many of the same parts with the 351 kit with the main differences being the engine, front bumper, rear panel, and wheels and tires.  It should be noted that the movie car had C code 429, with a C6 automatic which can be sourced by aftermarket resin casters.  Other things to note is the “hero” car did not have the deluxe steering wheel and had the standard two spoke wheel instead, and it was a non ram air car so the air cleaner would look different.  Revell did go through the trouble of making a new hood (without the twist locks) but alas the engraving for the ram air plenum on the underside is still there.  The hook locks brackets on the radiator support should be removed since those are part of the ram air option.  So to build a J code 429 Mach1 with a hurst four speed and ram air all you would need to do is swap hoods with the Boss 351 kit, paint the black or silver on the hood, and use the side stripes from the Boss 351 kit and source some 429 RAM AIR decals for the hood from Rays kits.
