Nazz Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Hey Guys,I am building a model of a car I had in the late 70's and I do not recall there being red cables on the positive side of the battery. It seams to me they were always black. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks, Jerry
Rodent Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Red positive cables are typically aftermarket as far as I remember. Factory cables were black.
Bainford Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 (edited) I seem to recall some Mopars having orange positive cables, and maybe some Fords too (not sure) but I think most Fords and GMs of the period were black. Likely most foreign cars too. Edited December 30, 2023 by Bainford
bobss396 Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 I have this one super heavy positive cable on my Ford, it goes from the firewall solenoid to the starter. Black, it came off a junk car many years ago. It hung on a nail on my garage wall for about 35 years. The ones for my Ford I had made up by a speed shop while I waited, I went black and red.
Nazz Posted January 2, 2024 Author Posted January 2, 2024 (edited) I am building a '64 Olds but I also had a '68 Pontiac, a buddy of mine had a '72 Mustang and I had a '72 Corolla. Thanks for the help guys. Jerry Edited January 2, 2024 by Nazz
