Charlie Magers Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I saw this ad in a magazine and thought it would make a sharp 2 door wagon. The black paint is Model Car World, the lower paint is silver metallic with lilac pearl from House of Color, the gold strip is also from House of Color. The grill is photo etch from Model Car Garage. The bumper and headlights are painted with Alclad II.
MikeMc Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Color balance!!!!!!Only one of those shots lets that lower POP!!! With that orange cast you need sunlight!! Nicely Foosed!!
george 53 Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Great job on the conversion to a 2dr. The colors real niceto, very subtle but elegant. She come out right nicely, I do gotta admit! GREAT BUILD!
plumnuts Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 super clean! I'v built this kit and thaught mine was nice, you have a great touch for detail. thanks for showing.
fordh8r Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Wow, nice paint! Very nice detail. You were right, this made a great subject to follow.
Charlie Magers Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 Thanks for all the nice comments. I was pulling my hair out on this one for a while but I’m happy with the way it turned out. MikeMc, Color balance…. I shot most of these pictures with a halogen light which must have caused the orange cast. The one picture that’s light was taken without any light or flash. I’ll try some sunlight. Thanks.
horsepoweraddict Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 This is a really nice build, I like it alot I can respect the time and effort that went into it. It looks great!!! I'd like to see the outdoor pics to see that paint really shine. Do you have any engine pics?
Charlie Magers Posted March 22, 2009 Author Posted March 22, 2009 Outside picture and engine shots. I think I could us some photography lessons but here ya go. The lilac pearl looks pretty sharp in the sunlight but it just doesn’t show that well in the photograph.
Jantrix Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Fantastic work. That's just about as good as it gets OOB. Great job.
