satterwhite78 Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 Don't fish but have outrun a Wildlife Fish and Game officer. Built last summer when the Auquarod Combo came out, decided to do something different as where I usually post In the car section. Van was easy and straight forward. Stance is a tad high. To bad there wasn't a molded open hood for the body. The boat was another task at hand. Slight warped top made applying to the hull such a enjoyable experience and forget trying to glue the header on after the motor is installed ( they weren't). Used a Rust-oleum Dark Steel Metallic on the van which in good sunlight sparkles. The speed boat was a base gold with Spaz Stix Candy Gold #15209 covering which imo gave it a fiberglass translucent metal flake appearance. 3
espo Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 Great looking combo. The van hood issue isn't a big deal since you wouldn't be able to see much of the engine anyway. Having owned a short wheelbase G20 van years ago this is the way they sat with the heavier duty suspension. Like the way the boat turned out. I wish we had more boat kits like this to tow behind our truck builds.
Street Rod Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 Great looking combo! Love the colors on both.
ncbuckeye67 Posted February 12, 2024 Posted February 12, 2024 I love your take on that kit. Very well done!
carrucha Posted February 18, 2024 Posted February 18, 2024 Nice combo. The gold paint on the boat looks good.
