1969 Ford C-Series Hy-Ranger

I finally over came a hurdle on this thing. One of the unique features of a Hy-Ranger is that the basket is leveled by cables running down the boom and too the base, and these are routed over a couple of large pulleys at the tip of the boom. After giving up finding something that would work I started making my own. This is attempt #4. Now all I have to do is build a second one!!

Please keep us updated with lots of photos as you go along. This looks fantastic! I love those olf Ford C models - they have a timeless charm about them and this one as a fire truck should look totally awesome and unique!!! It's looking like this is going to be one of those outstanding, truly beautiful builds. Keep up the good work and congratulations on a truly wonderful job. B):D:blink:

Heres the latest. This is the jumpseat area for behind the cab. It still needs some p/e slamlocks on the compartments, and a seat cushion , but this part is done!

I see you have made liberal use of Hobbytown tread plate. Try the KFS slam locks. They are photo etched.

I've thought about it. But, I have a hard enough time finising one truck, let alone the Super Pumper, the tender, and the satelite pumpers. The next may be something from Chicago. I'm leaning towards Big John, or one of the Willys deluge trucks.

Or I started CFD 759, a Paystar wrecker years ago, I might dig it out.
