935k3 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Hasegawa 's Jaguar XJR-8 Sprint version. Paint is Krylon White, only added details is seat belts, fire extinguisher and pedals. This kit shows no Silk Cut lettering on the box art but includes all Silk Cut markings on the decal sheet. All purple areas are well fitting decals. This is the recent re-release.
Mike601 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Nice! Very clean, I have this kit on the shelf, I think I just got some inspiration to build it hope it looks as good as yours!
3men2s Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 ONE OF MY FAVOTITE LE MANS RACER. YOU MADE IT LOOK VERY CLOSE TO THE ORIGINAL COUNTER PART. SWEET.....BY THE WAY I STARTED A LE MANS BUILD OFF R U INTERESTED, CHECK IT OUT IN WORKBENCH. COOL CAT MAN
935k3 Posted March 25, 2009 Author Posted March 25, 2009 (edited) Thanks everybody. To 3men2s(what does that mean anyway?) I probably won't be finishing anything for awhile. I usually just sort structual issues and paint bodys and stuff I can do with spray cans over the summer due to not having enough electrical capacity to run my compressor and air conditioner at the same time. My spraybooth and bench are in a finished attic so the AC wins over the summer. I am starting the Lemans Miniature 1/24 kit of the 2002 Bentley right now. I had this kit painted but it got dropped and a piece of paint about 2" by 1" chipped off so I had to strip it and I am going to make it go together better this time anyway. It will probably get built this fall, I will post any progress. Edited March 25, 2009 by 935k3
ismaelg Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Dale, That looks great! I have a rather simple 1/43 kit of that car and I may work on it soon. Danny's handle (3men2s) is a contraption that means "tremendous" in spanish. It is a cool story by itself. Thanks,
Nick F40 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Can't wait to see this next Saturday I always loved these.
FujimiLover Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 How easy is it to paint with Krylon White and what primer do you use for it? I've got two KS models that I might paint with this color.
Randy Kern Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Dale, you are definitely a decal guru! Fantastic work, hope to be able to see it at the next meeting.

Krylon White is my favorite white it's a very bright white and it covers well and polishes out nice. I always use Krylon or Plastikote white primer under all lighter colors and gray under darker colors. Plastikote does sand better but it is hard to find.
JHDrew Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Reminded as to just how darned nice looking that car was. Great work.
