gasserfreak Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Built this for a build-off on another forum. This is a great kit, I want to get another one and build it up with the 6 banger! I had a tough time with the tamyia gold paint, next time I go gold I might try the testors gold.

Dragline Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 That is tight! I'll echo TxRat and ask about the wheels. They look great in particular. Well done indeed. Dragline
noname Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Looks good. The last picture shows the paint and decals nicely.

Dragline thanks! those are resins from comp resins. real nice wheels. cleaned up, spray bombed with testors mag metalizer, with some black wash for the centers and silver for the lugs. I was a little disappointed with the front skinnies, but I LOVE the pie cuts on the back. I had a lot of fun with this one.
carrucha Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Cool '37 Chevy gasser. You definitely captured the look of a 1960's 37' Chevy gasser. carrucha
Bernard Kron Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Nice build on this kit. A really purposeful gasser. I agree that the wheels contribute a lot to the effect, as well as the 4-barrel on the blower combined with the various metal finishes in the engine compartment. I've used Competition Resin wheels on several builds and have always been happy with them. They have very crisp detailing and they look especially good when, as you did, finished in Metallizer Buffable Magnesium or Buffable Steel. Also very effective, approximating the dull gold color of some mags, is the Testors Acryl Jet Exhaust (in the bottle) which I like a lot. I'm just starting this kit but I'm lowering it all around and will build it as a Bonneville car. Thanx again for sharing this tasty build. B.
