Warren D Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 I started this build about 9 years ago, just after NECR 3405 came back in service after new paint. I had pushed it aside as the decal striping wasn't going well and decided about a month ago to finish it off. While it clearly says it's an SD40-2 I think the real one started life as an SD-40. The railing stantions and spacing match with the HO scale Kato SD-40 and not any of their SD-40-2's. I added some extra details to the front and back, and changed a few other things to more closely match the prototype. 5

I still don't understand why they chose black for the handrails by the steps, an area where high visibility is desirable. Edited May 27, 2024 by Warren D
