Thought I would show the results of taking a wedge cut out of the front fenders. Not sure if it was worth doing, but there is a small change. And I'm glad I'm not building new fenders.

That's it for now.

Bet the front tires fit under the pinched fenders a whole lot better! -KK

The 32 is in the paint shop (still). Had an oops with the clear coat running and causing a dark patch on the roof. Sanded back and shot a coat of colour on the roof and now in the process of clear coating again.

Below is a shot of the oops but is very hard to see but in real life it was very visible and being on the top even more so. you can see a dark smudge in the closeup pix. The top has been sanded in the pix.

Onward we go, thanks for looking

Paint sorted and has been in hot box for a while so dug body out to fit up the windscreen surround. Test fitted - what gives here?

IMG_0620.JPG.8c840819e6cc80788f2a1cf2decc93df.JPG

Does not even look close to fitting. Checked fit on a 5W body I have in the modelling room and nope doesn't fit that either. Then I looked at the chrome tree I cut it from - it is the same as the 3W tree without the Hemi parts. Looked again and found the correct surround on another tree and compared - the less rounded one is for the sedan...... DOH!!

IMG_0622.JPG.7dc14895ac30d42a457c2ff2c8cffad0.JPG

I cut the bottom rail out with vertical cuts along the sides and cut back the sides to suit the gap

Mocked up and now looks much betterer

IMG_0623.JPG.742a66b5a3a277e845ee34953a4895a7.JPG

And glued up - somewhere under the tape is a chopped windscreen surround

A quick mock up to take the local MPH group (Miniature Petrol Heads) meeting.

When fitting the drivers side guards I had an awful lot of trouble to get them to fit - found the cause - the lower radiator hose clashes with the front guard. I will now have to alter this to fit. I am annal and made a list of things left to do - comes from being a Project Manager in a past life

The next big effort is to colour sand and polish out the body. Pix are as it came from the paint shop

Thanks for looking

Your paint shop is doing a great job Bill! Nice save on the roof. I like the colors your using as they work so well together. Hope all goes well from here on.

Thanks haps Paul. I am happy with paint at the moment so fingers crossed it works out OK when I polish it out.

Choosing colours and colour combos is an agonizing process when building a model and can make or break a model. In the process of all the little things to get it across the line

Been a month or so for an update on my 32 Sedan build. I have been working to get my 68 Charger across the line and that's now under glass.

I noted that the trans I am using is a manual and I also noted  I did not have a shifter - DOH!! At least I got the three pedals right

So for the shifter I looked at the one that comes with the AMT Vickie and it is rather blah. I then looked at my collection of pins and the round head ones were a bit big. I checked with the War Dept and she has these nice little beads.

I cut the head off a chrome pin, super glued the bead onto the pin shaft and applied a good bead of glue and now I have nice round shifter knob. To finish off I painted the knob with clear red and bent the pin to shape.

The boot is a bit of tree shaped with a small dab section of round added and drilled out 0.7mm for the pin. Original thought was to paint the boot SG black but sense prevailed and I painted it the same colour as the interior

Pins, boot and knob

And completed shifter as compared to the Vickie unit

Meanwhile the body and guards etc have gone back to the body shop for colour sanding and polish

@bill-e-boy that’s a neat way to do a shifter, my stash of decent levers is depleting at a rapid rate. I don’t have a “War Dept “ to raid so I’ll have to go visit a craft store! 😜

It’s great to see that almost a year later they there are still builders plugging away at the finish line and have not abandoned their builds!

After a bit of a hiatus due to other projects, I am back onto my 32 Ford rolling bones Tudor. It has been too long.

i am considering engine options: I have everything set up to use the kit’s 32 flathead. The only problem is is that it has a C4 automatic. I also managed to find a 327 Chevrolet. It’s nicely detailed, but it too has an automatic. My last choice is the old Revell custom parts pack 58 Chrysler hemi.

Does anyone know where I can find a 241, 271 or 330 HEMI hopefully with a manual transmission ? Maybe the hemi out of the AMT 29 model a ?

I am also trying to still work out where to put my gas filler door or cap. Because I removed the stock located gas tank.

anyway, enjoy the photos. Your comments are welcome. Keep smiling.😊

I have taken a brake from this project but I got back on it yesterday. I finished my chop, bobbed the rear, created a roll pan, and lowered it a whole lot. I think the stance is almost perfect and it now just needs bodywork, paint, and detailing. Thanks for looking20250612_100712.jpg.f7524ac590a6a5ab05a68af9ccf44ac2.jpg20250612_100956.jpg.218571b7b0578916dceaadb2cb09b6a7.jpg20250612_101018.jpg.67bdaca24386d078c7ba25a0d89c2732.jpg20250612_100819.jpg.7165227a8071cce7ad6e5a7b412d584f.jpg20250612_100824.jpg.d3a3f39c5b57c567cae9917f96473c87.jpg20250612_100838.jpg.367d3bb0a84fb244237bf259cf6aaeed.jpg

I totally forgot about this. I believe it’s a 392 hemi but I could be wrong. The plus side is it’s a manual trans and that’s cool.

The frame and everything is set up to run the flathead so I decided I’m going to go with that. However, tonight I was scrounging through my parts box and I found an old NASCAR engine block with a molded in manual trans so I cut that off and cut off the automatic from the flathead and I glued on the manual trans from the NASCAR engine. Pretty cool, huh?

That is the one that springs to mind first off, but it has an unknown blobby trans. Most probably an early otto. It is easy to cut the auto off and glue a replacement manual trans

My build is about to get some love as I have put it to one side while I do a quickie buildup of a 32 5W Coupe

The trans connected to the HEMI is a 39 Ford transmission. These are supposed to be short and stubby, they were very popular to use in early days of hot rodding because of their short stubbiness. They were a three speed trans. And that’s what was used on the Barris Ala Kart.
