1972coronet Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 I was scrolling through eBay for the Round2 reissue of the MPC 1978 AMC Pacer, and I was knocked-out by the underwear smoking prices ! What the Devil ?!? Bain't that I'm going to sacrifice a C-Note for one of them - holy smokes ! Anyone know if Round2 is planning to reissue this kit again anytime soon ? I won't miss it this go'round ! @SteveG , et alia.
Mark Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Free eBay listing's bring out the nutty asking prices. Asking isn't getting, but when you can list over and over at no cost, that's what happens. 1

That's too much, IMO. yes, I realise that everything's going up, styrene's no exception ; but at over 50$ with cheapo Cymru-priced shipping, I'm not going to bite. So, if/should Round2 reissue this oldie, and it sells for , say, 35$ , I can swallow that... or even 60$ for an original MPC annual would be fine.
Mark Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Roundup is on the high side on their out-of-production stuff. Model Empire was higher still. The Pacer is one of those reissues that were pretty much scarfed up by those wanting one. I don't recall any great clamor over it, but apparently Round 2 managed to make enough of them to satisfy the demand and not have any wind up in closeout stores at the end. Keep an eye open, one will turn up. 1

Granted, that Canadian dollars but I see most current kits are hovering just above $30 USD in most on-line sources. The days of getting kits for 20 bucks are over. ? 1

I don't think I saw any of those at Hobby Lobby, only my LHS. So that may also correspond to a smaller production run. The Nova just got reissued (without the police components), so I wouldn't be surprised to see another run of the Pacer within the next couple years.
