Mike C Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 I have this mandrill. It was originally used for truing down tires on a 1/8 scale nitro RC car. Now I use it for 1/25 scale tires. The way I can make it work is because I have these two shallow conical discs. Also from the RC car. They were used under the body clips to protect the Lexan body. The pictures show the rest. 5
FoMoCo66 Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 Cool. I just put mine on a socket that's the right size then hold up a pice of sand paper to it. I start with something coarse like 600 grit then work my way up to 1000. 1
rattle can man Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 I've noticed when I use a bolt, washers and nuts that you have check frequently to make sure the nut is not tightening/ loosening due to the drill rotation. 1

Skip Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 I use something similar to this, uses a couple of tapered plastic plumbing washers about the size if the hole in the tire, once they pass through the 1/8" Screw and Nut they center inside the tire with little if any runout issues.
