I am currently building this kit:image.thumb.jpeg.ee76de92153a7851de66e8cd064c59f7.jpeg

And I'm on Step 1B & I already have an issue (this does not bode well for the build).  Anyway, Step 1B days to place Decals 9 & 5 on the rear diffuser:image.thumb.jpeg.6ec7dd21b560f34f52e0bb4aa07b8c7b.jpeg

However, Decal 5 goes on the body:image.jpeg.a8af48c7e8b6e3897ae8f1bd19b9800d.jpeg

And Decal 9 (somehow) goes on the Left Intake Box.  Does anyone know what decals are supposed to go on the rear diffuser, or is that just a complete misprint be Revell?

Thanks.

Clearly there is an error somewhere. Can you post a photo of the decal sheet. I'm wondering if there are wedge shaped carbon fibre decals that may be for the diffusers.

Nothing that I can see that would work.

Looking online I found a review of a previous version of C5R, and the instructions and decal sheet show 2 carbon fiber decals that I don't see on the decal sheet you posted from your version.  So it looks like they removed the decals from the sheet, but forgot to take the decal placement off the instruction sheet.  You can probably use tape to make a template and use some carbon fiber decal sheet from someone like Scalemotorsports.  I hope this info helps you out.

Jim...I built this kit and  it is clearly a mistake on the  instruction sheet.  Trevor is correct and go with carbon or paint it semi-black with a little silver added.  Race cars are changed from race to race and placement of smaller details is often left up to the artist.  Model companies are never perfect so use your judgement.  The kit goes together well and makes a nice model. Don't let this slow you down.  Enjoy yourself. Look forward to your build.

Thanks, guys.  I appreciate the help.  This is kind of what I figured.

@Rich Chernosky So far the kit is going together well, but I am coming up on my nemesis: painting yellow! ?

Jim..I airbrushed de-canted Tamiya TS spray straight over white plastic. Start with hi-pressure , low nozzle and work your way to open nozzle, low pressure. 4 light coats should do it.  Tamiya TS decanted and airbrushed is almost fool proof.

Started painting the yellow today, and it went surprisingly well.  Used Tamiya TS-16 right from the can.

I also noticed that there are no Goodyear or Goodyear Eagle tire logos on the decal sheet.

I’ll be following along on this one, Jim.  I’m looking forward to seeing your work on this one.  Personally, I like it when things like the decal errors are pointed out.  You may save some poor soul a lot of headaches in the future with information like this.  Good luck on the rest of this build!

I'll do what I can, John.  I'm trying to locate dome Goodyear logos for the fenders & front of the car below the turn signals (for lack of a better description). a47c0107d671fc44016cb038684025a3.jpg

Found these for the tires.

Although I'm not totally sure they'll work as the tires on the C5.R are different sizes.
