JerseeJerry55 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 Quick question about the Rallye Stripes decals for the Revell Camaro Z28/RS. Are they one piece? And if so how do you maneuver them onto the hood around the scoop? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. JerseeJerry55
Russell C Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 This one? Sheet came with a gluebomb I got years back, appears the hood stripes just go up to the edge of the cowl induction scoop.

Just trying to see if all you do is just cut the entire stripe out and move it into place on the trunk lid, and the hood.
Kit Basher Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 As I recall, the hood stripes are two pieces, one on each side of the center line. They go up onto the cowl induction, and are a bear to get settled in and conformed to the compound curves. The little "U" shaped pieces go on the cowl, where the vents are. Hope that helps. 1

As stated above. They are cut individually for each side and must be conformed to the cowl induction bulge. It is a pain to get to lay flat and get out any bubbles. The cowl hood is the only bad part. The stripes on the trunk do lay over the spoiler and can be nudged in. 1
espo Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Plan on using some Solvaset on the Hood decals around the rear part of the cowl Hood. The decal has to sort of bend over the raised portion of the Hood and it doesn't like to bend like that normally. 2

DJMar Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Stock (original 1990 issue) kit decals with a little bit of Micro Sol. They settled down pretty well. There's no clearcoat over the top, and the wiper cowl decals are not applied. My only complaint is the black looks a little lighter over the orange than they did on the decal sheet. But otherwise they worked, even over the curves. 3
