How Important is Box Art

I'll admit it. I'm a sucker for box art. I guess it's the (frustrated?) artist in me. And as others have said, the contents don't usually measure up.

A recent fave of mine. Yes, I bought three. Contents were worth it.... -RRR

Seeing how Round 2 is not so much in the model business as the collectible business, they're missing a big opportunity by not selling frameable prints of some of their nicer box art.

I've been saying this for years!

Not just some of the newer Round2 releases, but some of the art on Tamiya's kits would make for great posters. And when you get into the world of aircraft, Airfix is missing out on a gold mine!

I model mostly model factory hiro kits and there is no box art. So it really means nothing to me. But when I was a kid, the IMC kits looked really cool. Even if I  could not come close to building one at that time, but as a kid, it was beautiful.

I like a good box art especially from Tamiya. But it’s not that important to me where I’d spend money on a kit just for a new box art, and updated decals. If everything is new, and updated? Than take my money.
