I'm sure no stranger to stripping paint as I've had my fair share. Two builds ago I had to paint my 55 Ford pickup 3 time before I got it right. I've found that EasyOff oven cleaner works the best for me. How do you use it? Just spray and let it work? Or put it in a baggie&
landman Posted October 6, 2024 Author Posted October 6, 2024 Turns out the oven cleaner didn't work. So I sanded, and danded, and sanded.....and reprimed. If it doesn't work this time, I quit. 1
mrm Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 I truly hope you are not going to try the exact same material combo as the previous two times and expect a different result. 2
Moparman18064 Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Do yourself a favor, give that Rustoleum to a friend to use on his outdoor furniture. If you insist on using enamel paint, you can only use enamel based clear. With a hardener in it you could probably go with a urethane clear. If you go with what you were using previously, you will continue to have epic fails. Honestly, I would look for a lacquer paint that matches your color. Lacquer dries quicker, is easier to fix mistakes and handles all the clears. By the way, another option for paint removal that works really well is 91% isopropyl alcohol. I hope this helps you 2

landman Posted October 10, 2024 Author Posted October 10, 2024 OK. This is the last attempt. This will likely dry flat so I'll use some ploor polish to clear. 1
