Decided to do a simple kit bash using the GMC General ( minus sleeper) and using the Coca-Cola Louisville delivery box. Shouldn’t require much custom fabrication, IMG_2025.jpeg.7cd4a15de139cf5fecc97a8778e1e444.jpegIMG_2024.jpeg.6cebf15cda5f67d1b970f4acc322d685.jpegbesides, everybody needs a beer truck on the shelf. Had these decals just begging to be used.

What a great idea!

Maybe I'll build a road train with three trailers full of beer!

I'll be watching!

Oh man, I love those road trains, watched several you tube videos about them. We will see where this goes.

I included those decals on a Gofer decals sheet in case others want to build one too.

I wondered if you would catch this???, love those decal kits and the options available, need some new stuff

I would think there were more Generals built without the sleeper than with.  I did one a while back with a roll-off container without needing to stretch the frame.  Hope the box will fit the frame without a stretch.

I think you are correct. Did a quick mock-up and I don’t think I need to add any wheelbase. I may have to add a tail piece to the frame to support the lift gate, will see.

Getting some bench time today. Completed a rough mockup to dial in the wheelbase and frame length. After a lot of measuring the two donor kits, I added 1 inch to the GMC frame ahead of the rear axles and added 1.5 inches on the end of the frame to mount the hydraulic lift gate to. I may need to trim a little bite off when everything is built to align the lift gate to the body.

frame rails stretched, need a little clean up then start assembly on the cross members and axles.

Going to be a great addition to your fleet!  What color are you thinking for this truck?

Just wanted to do something different and simple, not a lot of fabrication work. Some flavor of red for the fenders, top of hood, tanks, battery boxes and lift gate, the rest will be white. Trying to follow a company truck theme

I agree!  Since I started looking at builds on this forum, your builds have always caught my eye - they're crisp, clean builds, very appealing to the eye

Thanks Brian, my paint jobs are not very complicated, typically I like the industrial work truck themes, they are simple.

Well today has been a disaster, painted the air deflector for the roof and yes sir, I gotta run in the paint?. Next, I had stripped the chrome for the four grill pieces, reworked the edges and normal injection molding marks, primer and painted gloss white, let it dry. Today I sprayed Revell chrome over the gloss white and it lifted the white. I had done an experiment with spraying a test plastic bar with primer and gloss black and sprayed the chrome over both. It looked better over the gloss black than the primer and did not lift the black. So in the stripper they go and start over.
