You need a whole new body to "correct" the AMT 70 Chevelle.  Like the one in the Revell curbside kit.

If you're referring to those weird extra creases in the fenders, it can be easily corrected with a little putty and patience.

That mistake dates all the way back to the first '70 promos.

I filled mine too when I build a 71 Chevelle like my dad had when I was a kid.

Sorry, I just got back to this post!
Tahoe….long gone!

I’m replicating a Malibu 400 that a friend had in college. Said it was like a SS but not with the insurance premium. He had a BBC, gauges, suspension, buckets and 4 speed. I thought he was full of it. He took me out in it and I still wasn’t convinced. Years later, after passing on a $6K COPO Chevelle, I learned to keep my mouth shut and my mind open.

The kit is not the best. Body is incorrect and the nose might work on an El Camino. 4 speed but pedals are automatic. Lots of issues that if I corrected, you wouldn’t see this built in a long time. In doing this, I realized that Tenax 7R has been discontinued. My bottle had evaporated. Couldn’t order new. Instead I used Acetone. As with Tenax, I was careful. Fortunately, I did order more applicators! Moldings and scripts are very faint. Most are all gone!
I’m looking for a quick build on this one. The color will be Fathom Blue so that will hide a lot. If you follow me you’ll note that I still have a ‘55 to finish…before I die!

Today, I painted the exhaust and other small parts. The one semi black I used looked like garbage, and I resprayed with another. Luckily, it was compatible! That, to me, is a whole issue in itself!

I will keep you posted.
