Not sure this is really worth a post , but Gary said it was. Did a little ‘dirtying up’ on the Hayes …. Some oil with dirt and some mud and road grime ….. not sure I’m a 100% happy …. I’ll let you guys decide …

Very realistic weathering, I especially like the mud in the tyre treads, it really picks out the tread. The chassis looks brilliant too. The only time our trucks got a thorough clean of the chassis and engine was when they went for their annual Ministry Of Transport roadworthiness inspection (present a dirty truck - instant fail), or when they went to be repainted which was only once in their lifetime usually. Weekly, the drivers did their best but they were mainly interested in the cab so they didn't get dirty just working the job. In other words, what you've done is representative of a real feet truck. Well done.

I probably shouldn't post every step I do as you guys will get tired of it , BUT, my very good, very generous and highly talented Brian Kerr, sent me some of his amazing mid flap material and suggested I give it a try, so this morning I did just that.  There was a p/e hanger and a p/e flap on the CTM Hayes p/e update set. So, being ‘borderline genius’ …… 🙄🙄, not, thought the hangers would work very well with the gifted material …. And guess what? I was right. In real life it looks GREAT and very much to scale … thanks Brian for your generosity … great added realism..

Thanks Ron, the material Brian sent is amazing … I have to give them a little dust at least or tear one off like all our trucks had 🤭🤣🤣

Thanks fellas. I appreciate you following along and adding  the encouragement. Lots of little things to change this over and lots of aftermarket but a lot of fun …… and the vision is slowly coming together

Nice Mudflaps. One thing I would never get caught with is a tore Mudflap or missing just too tacky for me and the rigs I ran just makes a show truck look like a turd on a silver platter 😂

Lee, a man after my own heart….. even on our fleet trucks , I could not abide a weak hanging flap or partly torn …..just looks so unprofessional…. A couple things I NEVER did in 38 years of driving is tear a mudflap off OR break a box side board , I am quite proud of that little thing and only a gravel truck driver will get that 🤭 .  Here in B.C., CVSE find no humour in missing mud flaps, and if spotted would garner an exchange of some money to the provincial Gov 🤭🤭🤣🤣🤣

I’ve tore a flap off last year because of a Spotters negligence back to me in a tight yard. After that I found out they can’t be trusted. Never Broke a side in my Dump Truckin life either. Many of loader operators came close but after a good chewing from me they got with the program. A missing Mudflap here in the US is just calling the DOT pull me over please 😂

AND, I have NEVER crushed a fuel tank with the loader wheel either ............ same here with CVSE, and then ..............." while we have you pulled over  here, .... lets have a look at the rest of the truck....." :(

Awesome progress, Jeff and the weathering sure sets off nicely against that well maintained cab!

Thanks Brian, I may have to 'dust' up the cab a bit to tie it all together.... I'm at the nervous point now.....
