James2 Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 After years of waiting, due to display space, I have decided to build a Semi Truck. I recently purchased the AMT kit pictured here. I will be doing a slightly customized rig and could use some reference material and aftermarket supply, resin or 3D. Also, any tips would be appreciated! This will become a winter project, so I do have time to gather thoughts and parts before starting, thanks in advance for the help. 1
BK9300 Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 I've had good luck finding what I need online from Auslowe Model Accessories, ST Supply and CTM (Czech Truck Model). ST Supply sells items from both Auslowe and CTM, but don't always have the full line offered on the individual sites for Auslowe and CTM. Good luck with your build! 2
Fat Brian Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 If I remember correctly the front axle as assembled is too wide. With aftermarket wheels it might not be as much of an issue but something to keep on mind. I believe most folks end up leaving the brake drums off as an easy fix. 2
Jim B Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 And I think the headlights are a little high as well. 1
Sledsel Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 The multi piece body was an issue for me, I ended up filling the seams and sanding it smooth. Before paint I used some rivet decals to replace sanded rivets. 1
