RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 This is a restoration of a 1/25 scale Revell Charlie's Angels van. Some pics here shows how it was when I rescued it. It was dirty & covered in fingerprints & glue stains. Wet sanded the edges and deleted parting lines. Rubbing compound was used on the body, but not the decals. The whole thing was polished with Meguiar's wax to bring the faded beauty to showroom condition. Painted some of the chassis components and added raised letter tires after reattaching the wheels. Also added all the door, vent, and hood cut lines. I'm leaving the interior & exterior mostly the way the original owner built it, because the person did a fairly decent job other than the stains on the body and some glass. Added window moldings, side markers and script detailing to my 1976 Charlie's Angels Chevy van. Also carefully touched up missing areas of the decals on both sides with a brush and flat black paint from a jar. Looks more finished now. Good thing there were no stains on that shag carpet! 8
slusher Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Great job have not seen one of these in awhile..
Leica007 Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Turned out very nice and your touch up on the decal is very impressive. I always enjoy seeing what members do with Vans.
STU111 Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 That is really neat, man it takes me back to my childhood when the tv show was a must watch. Top notch.??
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted October 26, 2024 Author Posted October 26, 2024 Thank you everyone for the compliment! Much appreciated! @slusherThanks! Probably not a lot of these got built. I see a few on ebay and some are like new with clear wrapping from the factory.
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted October 26, 2024 Author Posted October 26, 2024 @STU111Thanks! I still watch all five seasons every now & then on my DVDs I collected like fifteen years ago. Good thing these days they can also be streamed online.
DJMar Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 I had totally forgotten about this version of that crazy Revell van kit. It looks good in pink.
ewetwo Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Looks great. I have one too. Don't know what the inside looks like. Just sits on the table.
Chinacar Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Nice one! I've got a Hardy Boys version of this, which is quite rare that needs a little bit of the same updates that you did to yours.
spencer1984 Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Impressive job on the restoration, that turned out great!
Jack COndon Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I enjoyed seeing the restoration of the Charlie's Angels Revell Model Mobil Unit Van. I am the owner of the original Charlie's Angels van, that this model kit was replicated after: https://www.charliesangelsfan.com/CAvan.htm I thought I would share the real van with you!
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted January 19 Author Posted January 19 @Jack COndon Wow! This is super amazing! Thank you for sharing! I'm happy to know you enjoyed my work on restoring that Revell Charlie's Angels van model. Currently I'm working on putting together a model of John Bosley's 1979 Ford Thunderbird Town Landau. It should be ready a few weeks from now.
