The rear package tray of the '49 gives way to an area where the top would fold on the '50. The biggest thing I think to watch for is that the main portion of the floor is longer than the '49 and where this is most notable is the chassis floor area and where it meets the floor of the interior part. In order to put a '50 interior in a '49 chassis this only requires a minimal trimming to fit. As you can tell I'm a big fan of the subject and the kits.
bobss396 Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 The last 2 I built, recent issue kits, I had fit problems between the dash, bottom of windshield and the body under the wipers. I had to remove material from the dash and from the bottom of the windshield. The next one I will try using an older kit. But this along with the '49 Mercury and '53 Ford trucks have held up well over 60 years. I have wondered how many molds exist for a particular kit. Any guesses?
