MW....I did a two-part How-To article here in Model Cars Mag on a Ford C-800 race car transporter and trailer kitbash about ten years ago.  It was a mashup of the AMT C-800, AMT LN Transporter, aftermarket repo of the Ford factory C-series sleeper, and a Monogram Race Car Trailer.  It turned out to be more complicated than I had envisioned, but I was pleased with the results.  Here's a picture or two of the completed project.

Let me know if you need me to look up the specific issues for the article in case you want to track the issues down as an assist for your project.  And....good luck!   Very best....TIM

Hey Michael, can I ask what blue you used on the bodies, it looks very accurate?

I used tamyia metallic blue it’s definitely the best match I could find in a rattle can.

Hi Michael....it was featured on the cover of the August/September 2014 (#188) and October 2014 (#189) issues of Model Cars Magazine.  The trailer was the Revell "Race Car Tranporter"k kit; the same trailer was also in a Combo Kit with the Old Monogram Chevy Van.  I cut up sheet styrene and used some parts box pieces to make the side panels and tire carrier, patterned to match (but on a smaller size) the AMT LN kit transporter body.  Details of the trailer are in part 2 of the article.

Hope that helps...TIM

Thanks for the info Tim I think I will use the two trailers I already have and try to scratch build the fenders to match the reference photos as that’ll help me keep within budget. .Although I have built over 400 drag cars I have never completed a big truck so this will be a good challenge for me. The only other big rig I had was the Moving On Kenworth that I bought when I was 7 years old I never finished it as it was way out of my 7 year old snap together skill set at the time .

Those Torino's turned out great, where did you source the Chrome Reverse Wheel for them, And the Mustang's? I'm trying to get all the proper parts before I actually dive into building mine. Everything is looking perfectly done so far.

These look great, cant wait to see them all with decals.

Mike - I never followed ford cars like I should have as I was a Chevy guy

Ive got a MPC 73 Mach 1 kit - do you have any suggestions for a good drag car to replicate with this one ?

The 69 drag team cars to date .The cars are done building the haulers and trailers will come next. I still have to accumulate more parts for them. Plus the spring/summer/fall  means busy with construction projects so modeling time drops off.
