Are you referring to the 1964 Chrysler powered Tork Master Special driven by Kenny Safford?

Do you need pix of the trans or the fluid coupling or the car?

Just trying to get clear in my mind.

EDIT: Daddyfink beat me to it.  :)

Google is useless for this, all you will get is modern transmissions. What exactly are you looking for?

As I said in another thread, the HUG and Corvair have really accurate Torkmasters. Cut 'em off and use them.

I do have several old magazine article and pics, but it might take a while to find or scan.

what exactly do you want?

Try the March 1966 Popular Hot Rodding, "Oregon's twin fuelers" has shots of The Northwind and Bev's Steak House AA/FD's. both of which ran Torkmasters

It's very obscure at this point, as I said Google is useless. The HAMB isn't help either. It's just lumped in with generic dragster drives in the 60's.

I just stumbled on pics and article mostly because of my interest in cars from my teen years, the Northwind and the Ace were heroes of mine in 1965.

But really ( trust me bro ) LOL, the HUG version is dead on. If I find anything more, I'll post it.

OOOOPS! I am wrong about the 1965 Issue of Poprod, while both diggers do have the Torkmasters, there are NO DECENT PICTURES! True of almost every car that ran hem Sorry1

your post is what sent me down the rabbit hole. would like to see pics of the real one and know how it works.

It was basically a Torque Converter, fluid coupler, instead of a clutch. So it will look like a standard clutch bellhousing.

I picked up a stack of old Hot Rods January 1964 has 4 pages with pics of the Torkmaster .

Then, it will be available at Motor Trend's site. Now, with the date, it'll be easy to find!
